| How do you obtain the IP address on a mac? First you have to decide which Operating System (OS) you are using. Mac OS 9 or lower OR Mac OS X (any version) Mac OS 9 or lower There are two ways to obtain an IP address on a mac which is connected to the internet. When connected via dialup you can either go the the TCP/IP control panel: Apple menu -> Control Panel -> TCP/IP and then read it from there. Or you can launch remote access. Apple menu -> Control Panel -> Remote Access and then read it from there. ![]() Mac OS X (TEN) (any version) This is pretty simple. All you would really need to do is, once you are connected, go back to the network system preferences. Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Click on Network -> Under the TCP/IP tab. |
